Non-Invasive Fat Reduction & Skin Tightening

Body Contouring in Courtenay & Campbell River

Sculpt, tighten, and tone your body with advanced radiofrequency technology designed to reduce fat, improve skin elasticity, smooth cellulite, and create a more contoured appearance without surgery or downtime.

Why Choose Body Contouring?

Even with a healthy lifestyle, some areas of loose skin, stubborn fat, and cellulite can be difficult to improve with diet and exercise alone.

Radiofrequency body contouring is a non-surgical treatment that can help tighten skin, improve body contours, and support collagen production, with little to no downtime.

What Is Body Contouring? / How Does Body Contouring Work?

Our body contouring treatments use radiofrequency technology.

Radiofrequency energy heats the tissue beneath the skin, helping stimulate collagen production and improve skin firmness and body contours.

This naturally supports collagen production and can help improve skin laxity, smooth the appearance of cellulite, and refine body contours.

We use the Venus Versa™ OctiPolar™ and InMode Forma Plus technology platforms for radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening.

As we age, collagen layers become thinner and more compressed, which can contribute to sagging skin and visible lines.

RF energy heats the tissue beneath the skin, which helps stimulate collagen remodelling and improve skin texture and laxity. This supports collagen production and skin elasticity over time.

Results tend to improve over the months following treatment, as collagen production takes time. Maintenance treatments may be recommended after your initial series to help maintain results.

There is little to no downtime, and most patients find the treatment comfortable. Radiofrequency treatments are generally considered safe for all skin tones when performed appropriately.

Before and Aftercare Advice for Body Contouring

Before care: Maintain good hydration, a healthy diet, regular exercise, and aim to be within 5–10 lbs. of your goal weight. This is not a weight loss treatment or a substitute for liposuction.

Aftercare: Drink plenty of water (8–12 glasses per day). Light exercise is encouraged. Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours. Do not apply ice, and allow the skin to return to its normal temperature naturally. Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 hours. Protect the skin from the sun with SPF 30+ and avoid active skincare and skin treatments, including laser hair removal, for 1 week.

have a question?

Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment and allow 30–60 minutes for each session.

Most patients receive 6–8 treatments per area, with each session lasting about 30–60 minutes. Treatments are usually done once a week and require little to no downtime, so you can usually return to daily activities right away.

Possible side effects and risks may include:

  • Mild to moderate discomfort or pain. Many patients describe an intense heating sensation, especially during more aggressive treatment.
  • Redness and/or swelling of the skin lasting up to 24 hours.
  • Increased urination or bowel movements for several days following treatment, if fat or cellulite reduction is being performed.
  • Nausea or flu-like symptoms may occur as the body processes liquefied fat if fat or cellulite reduction is being performed.

Skin may appear flushed and feel warm for a few hours, but this usually subsides quickly.

A consultation can help determine whether this treatment is appropriate for your goals and treatment area.

Contraindications for this treatment include:

  • Pregnancy or nursing
  • Bacterial or viral infection
  • Uncontrolled diabetes or high blood pressure
  • Impaired immune system and poor healing
  • History of cancer within the past 5 years
  • Silicone injections in the areas to be treated
  • Pacemaker, internal defibrillator, or other electrical implant
  • Metal implants of any kind in the area to be treated

How Often Should I Receive Venus Versa™ OctiPolar™ and InMode Forma Plus Treatments?

Typically, treatments are performed once per week for 8 weeks, followed by maintenance treatments every 3 months.

Eight sessions of radiofrequency (RF) body contouring are typically recommended to allow time for gradual fat metabolism, collagen remodelling, and skin tightening. While minor refinements may take fewer sessions, a series of 6–10 treatments is standard for noticeable contouring results.

Multiple treatments are often recommended for the following reasons:

Gradual collagen production: RF energy heats the skin to stimulate new collagen and elastin, a process that takes time to develop, with improvements appearing over 2–4 months.

Gradual fat metabolism: The body requires multiple sessions to metabolise the fat cells affected during treatment.

Cumulative results: Each session builds on the previous one, allowing deeper tissue heating and progressive tightening.

Skin tightening: To achieve noticeable tightening, particularly on larger body areas, repeated sessions are often recommended as the skin gradually responds over time.

Maintaining My Body Contouring Results

Maintenance treatments are typically recommended every 3 months.

Treatments should be performed by a licensed medical aesthetician or laser technician under the care of a licensed physician.

The Power of Combination Treatments

Many patients combine RF tightening with other body-contouring treatments to support their skin-tightening and body-contouring goals. Treatment pairing recommendations should be based on the area being treated and your individual treatment plan.
